Following in the spirit of the new collaborations created each year, Artistic Director Annalisa Schembri has brought together two emerging talents from Malta and Spain in an evening that crosses cultures and languages. In a celebration of a Mediterranean summer, Maltese immersive sound artists parpeduni, and acoustic trio FLAN will be sharing the stage for an evening of musical storytelling.

Opening the programme, parpeduni presents a set of original ambient and instrumental music. Their sound world establishes the tone for the evening: intimate and quietly transportive. From this sonic landscape, FLAN emerges naturally into a repertoire that traverses bolero, tango, bossa nova, jazz, and contemporary pop — not as separate genres, but as interconnected musical languages. Sung across Spanish, English, Arabic, and Maltese, amongst other languages, the performance moves fluidly between cultures, guided primarily by a rich harmonic substance. Invited performer and poet Eulalia Cortes will be sharing fragments of Spanish poetry, extending and rooting its cross-cultural character.

Malta-based duo parpeduni brings together Stefan Borg and Luke Azzopardi, who have cultivated a unique alternative sound. Based in Barcelona, FLAN brings together French-Lebanese, Maltese, and Argentinian musicians whose distinct backgrounds inform a shared musical sensibility rooted somewhere between the Mediterranean and Latin America. FLAN is Lamis Khoury, Siobhan Vassallo and Carla Uccelli.

Rooftop Series 2026 is supported by Visit Malta, APS Bank, MAPFRE and PWC.

A sensory-friendly room will be available on-site throughout the event.
