Description

Revamp MT proudly presents School of Rock – The Musical, the high-voltage stage adaptation of the hit Paramount film, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Julian Fellowes. Based on the screenplay by Mike White, this feel-good production delivers a riot of laughs, rebellion, and rock 'n' roll.

Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star, is out of money and options when he stumbles into a substitute teaching job at a prestigious prep school. With no teaching credentials and zero interest in the curriculum, Dewey discovers that his straight-A students are hiding some serious musical chops. He hatches a plan to turn them into a secret rock band and get them to the Battle of the Bands – all without the school, the parents, or the uptight headmistress finding out.

Starring Maltese comedian James Ryder as the irrepressible Dewey, alongside Natassja Chapman as Rosalie Mullins, Alessio Buhagiar as Ned, and Bertha Farrugia as Patty, this dynamic production brings together powerhouse vocals, laugh-out-loud moments, and live music played by a cast of actor-musicians, including kids who rock out onstage.

Directed by Dorothy Bezzina and with musical direction by Edward Mifsud, School of Rock features favourite hits from the movie as well as new songs written for the stage, including “You’re in the Band”, “If Only You Would Listen”, and “School of Rock”. It’s a celebration of music, mischief, and the power of believing in yourself.
